Chocks Away For The Spitfire 10k!

Join us for the Spitfire 10K at the RAF Museum London, for the unique opportunity to run around the historic Hendon area carrying the name of a Battle of Britain serviceman, and supporting the RAF Museum London.

The run will take you around the edge of the historic London Aerodrom that once existed in Colindale. Once you cross the finish line you recieve the highly coveted Spitfire 10K race medal, which for the first time will be a sustainable wooden medal featuring a unique aircraft inspired design.

This year's race will take place on Sunday 17th September, commemorating Battle of Britain Day. We've got plenty of plans in the pipeline for a cracking 2023 event, so watch this space for announcements on the London Spitfire 10k 2023!

Run with The Few

Our Roll of Honour cards are one of the most popular elements of the race. They enable you to carry the name of a Battle of Britain serviceman with you on your run. You will receive your Roll of Honour card with your race pack. Whether you talk about your pilot with your family and friends or share their stories on social media – we want you to get involved and keep their memory alive!

Fundraise for The Few and receive a free t-shirt and goody bag!

Help us honour those who defended our skies during the Battle of Britain by fundraising for the RAF Museum and pledging to raise £100. Once you hit your pledge you will receive your FREE technical t-shirt and a goody bag.

Over the last couple of years, our amazing Spitfire 10K fundraisers have raised an impressive £10,000 in sponsorship.  With your support, we will be able to continue to share the RAF Story – past, present and future. This year we are hoping to reach £5000 in fundraising.

If you would like to pledge to raise £100 please select the fundraising option when signing up online.  We will then send you an email which gives you instructions about how to register your fundraising page.

We will be there on race day so you can collect your t-shirt from our fundraising stand.

Our Spitfire Family Run is also back! The run is perfect for younger ones but can also be completed by the whole family.

*Members of UK Athletics affiliated clubs and Armed Forces Personnel will be asked to enter details to receive the discount.

Please note that a booking fee is applicable when booking entry to the Spitfire 10K race online.

Entry Information

All runners to be 15 years and older. This race is held under UK Athletic Rules; UKA Licence has been applied for.

Spitfire 10K technical t-shirts

Spitfire 10K technical t-shirts will be available to purchase shortly. We will release the design in the new year, you will be emailed a link if you want to purchase one, so please check back to see what this years t-shirt looks like soon!

New for this year - home delivery is the only option for ordering your t-shirt, as we focus on sustainability and reducing waste. You need to please place your t-shirt order by 3rd September 2023. Thank you for helping us with this.

Technical T-shirt: £19.50 (this included postage and packaging).

Please note there will NOT be any on the day sales of t-shirts.

If you select the fundraising option, then you do not need to purchase your t-shirt in advance. As long as you hit your pledge, you will be able to collect your t-shirt from the fundraising stand on the day. This gives you right up to the race to raise your £75.

Sustainibility

Ensuring the Spitfire 10K is sustainable as possible is important to the RAF Museum and Nice Work our race management partner. Therefore 2023 will be our most sustainable race so far. For the first time our medals will be made out of wood, and created in the UK, with our unique aviation inspired designs continuing. The t-shirts will be printed in the UK. We have also been working hard to reduce the amount of waste created by the race, which is why we ask that you purchase your technical t-shirts online in advance.

Event Terms

This event is owned by the RAF Museum, when you confirm your purchase, you are accepting the following terms and conditions:
• I declare I am an Amateur as defined by UKA & agree to abide by their rules. I take part at my own risk and will not hold the RAF Museum responsible for any injury, sickness or loss as a result of my taking part.
• I agree to adhere to all COVID safety procedures whilst on site and running the race.
• I agree to the RAF Museum having the right to alter or amend any of the above information about the race
• You agree that we may publish your Personal Information as part of the results of the Event and may pass such information to the governing body or any affiliated organisation for the purpose of insurance, licences or for publishing results either for the event alone or combined with or compared to other events. Results may include - but not be limited to - name, any club affiliation, race times, occupation and age category.
• No ticket may be resold.
• We reserve the right to refuse entry to late arrivals on race day
• Race packs will be sent out two weeks in advance of the race, this will include information about the race and your race number. Please ensure you bring these and your Roll of Honour Card with you on race day.
• Unfortunately, we cannot issue any refunds for cancellations by participants.
• Should you no longer be able to take part in the race we are able to offer transfers and deferrals up until 14 days before the event, after this point deferrals to the 2024 race will only be offered. There will be a £5 charge for deferrals after this time and up until the 15 September.
• The Spitfire 10K is a race organised by the RAF Museum as a registered charity. We therefore ask that all runners wishing to raise funds in conjunction with this event only do so for the RAF Museum, we thank you for respecting this.
• I understand that the RAF Museum may take photographs of me taking part in this event and I permit the RAF Museum to use these images for promotional purposes.
