Event Description
The Venice Canals Marathon is a virtual event for all runners which follows a 26.2 mile route through Venice’s historic canals.
The route, starting in Southwest of Venice, winds its way through the centre of the city, (incorporating parts of the Grand Canal) before heading out to the Eastern parts around the half way mark. The route then snakes back across Northern areas of Venice and finishes in the West opening up into the Venetian Lagoon.
Venice, Italy’s famous floating city, is home to incredible architecture, beautiful canals, and unique attractions. It’s no wonder that it’s a very popular tourist destination.
Do you have what it takes to complete this Marathon challenge?
Beginning on Tuesday 4th April 2023, you will use our route map and printable log book to track your distance all the way to completion. Once you have successfully submitted your results, you'll receive a bespoke Venice-themed medal, a digital certificate, and those who send in the best selfies will be awarded with prizes!
You can get stuck into the mileage a little bit at a time if you wish, but don't let that stop you from completing the whole thing in one attempt if you can!

How do I take part?
Simply enter the virtual event and NiceWork will send you a welcome email with details of how you submit your results. Over the race period, keep track of your miles using their logbook. Once complete, email the logbook to them along with your epic finishers selfie and they will feature you in the selfie gallery!
If you don’t have an activity tracking device you can still take part, just email your finishing logbook and you will still get your medal.

Please enter me for this virtual challenge. I accept that the organiser will not be liable for any loss, damage, action, claim, cost or expenses which may arise in the consequence of my participation. I declare that I will not take part unless I am in good health and accept that I do so at my own risk. Once my entry is accepted, I understand that my entry fee is NOT REFUNDABLE under any circumstances - even if I do not or cannot complete the challenge. Throughout the challenge I will observe the current government guidelines in force with regards to social distancing and time restrictions on exercising outside of the home.
