Buggy Running Event - Alice Holt Forest

The second Buggy Running Event will be held at Alice Holt Forest which provides ample parking, visitors centre, café, adventure playgrounds, Go Ape and a family friendly mountain bike trail so a great day out can be planned alongside the event.

These events are unique as they are for people wanting to walk, jog or run with a child in a buggy or wheelchair and are on carefully designed, off-road and traffic-free courses.

Buggy Running Events are aimed at getting kids outdoors whilst parents can keep fit...therefore allowing everyone to be more active together.

By teaming up with the Forestry Commission, Buggy Running Events are being held in forests that are already family friendly. With ample parking, a café and adventure playgrounds, a great family day out can be planned alongside the running event.

The 3.4 mile course will be using the major tracks in the forest so any type of buggy would be okay although please take care and be considerate to other forest users. There will be a nappy changing tent at around 1.7 miles where your time will be paused and there will always be a helper in this tent to provide assistance if needed.

A medal will be presented to each runner and their buggy passenger (or two if in a double buggy!).

Prizes for the 1st male and female in each category (buggy and wheelchair).

Location

The second Buggy Running Event will be held at Alice Holt Forest, Farnham. Please use the postcode GU10 4LS.

Parking

There is no designated parking area for the event so just choose a parking space where available. Alice Holt can accommodate over 500 cars so there will be plenty of spaces close to the Visitor Centre.

Unless you have a Discovery Pass, you will need to pay for your parking when you decide to leave. As the parking is per hour, with a fixed price of £8 for over 4 hours, there is no need to worry when your ticket will expire.

Registration

We’ll be using a separate undercover area which is less than a minutes walk from the Visitor Centre. Please follow the orange signs from outside the Café which will direct you to the registration area.

There will be a gazebo outside for parking your buggy and the start and finish will also be immediately next to the registration area.

When you arrive, please visit the degistration desk where you can collect your race number and the specialist timing device called an SI-Card.

Once registered and ready to run just head straight to the start which will be immediately next to registration.

Start Times

You can start anytime between 09.30am and 11:30am, so once registered and ready, just turn up and follow the instructions from the start official. Just don’t forgot your SI-Card as you’ll need this to start. If anyone wants to start in a wave then you are more than welcome to meet in the start area to go off at 09.30, 10.00, 10.30, 11.00 and 11.30
