Event Description

The long awaited return of our popular chip-timed mixed terrain 10k race through and around the village of Poynton. Starting and finishing on Park Lane, which is closed for the event, the route is suitable for all abilities as it passes through the village and along the surrounding countryside trails.

Race number pick up is on the day at Race HQ at Poynton Civic Centre, Park Lane, SK12 1RB.

Registration will open at 08.00 and close at 09:00 prompt.

There will be no entries on the day, the race entry limit is 800

There is a bespoke medal, snacks and water at the finish

*Please note, these are the medals we had ordered for the 2020 event, cancelled due to the COVID situation. After much debate and in keeping with our ongoing commitment to reduce our environmental footprint, we have made the decision not to replace the 2020 ribbon with new 2022 ones.

Cut Off Time:
There is no official cut off time but please email us prior to the event to let us know if you expect to take longer than 1 hour 45 minutes to complete the course. As Park Lane will be reopening after that time, this will help us to ensure that we have people in place so that you can finish safely after the road is open again.

COVID-19 Considerations

This  event is being organised under current England Athletics (runbritain) COVID-19 guidelines, as at January 2022. Should these guidelines change, the rules in place on the date of the event will be put into place. It is possible that any new restrictions could result in us having to cancel the race, run it under stricter conditions or revert to virtual at very short notice. Where the race  limit is reduced but we can still run the event, we will take the entries in 'first entered' first served' order then offer a virtual option or refund (minus costs already honoured)

Prizes
We will have prizes for the first three overall male/female, age groups winners in 5 year age bands from age 40 and team prizes (male/female, three to count).

Marshals
We are looking for some marshals to help make the day go smoothly.  If you can help, know someone who can or would like more details please e-mail us at volunteer@crazylegsevents.co.uk .
All our volunteers get either a free (transferable) entry for a future event or we will make a charity donation on their behalf.

Refunds

Organising a race incurs considerable costs which are met a long time before race day and so individual refunds will only ever be issued at the Race Organiser’s discretion. For a refund to be considered, full details must be emailed to us for consideration within a reasonable time frame of the event.

We do not refund any admin fees that were applied on top of the base Entry fee paid.

Cancellations

We hold the rights to amend/cancel any aspect of an event at late notice. Cancellation will only ever be a last resort for us, and we will always take direction on event cancellations from government agencies (e.g. the Met Office for weather related incidents) and the National Governing Body concerned, in addition to our assessment of the local conditions.
In the event of any cancellation, if it possible to reschedule the event to a different date in the same calendar year then all entries will be automatically transferred to the new date. Deferrals and transfers will be permitted for the rescheduled event.

Where an event cannot be rescheduled, committed contractors will be paid and remaining funds will be offered as partial refunds.
