Event Description

After over 20 years a Marathon is returning to Huddersfield….and about time too.

The route is a bit different…it is still challenging, it is still hilly, it is still Huddersfield.

This is no ordinary marathon. It is a unique, bespoke, family event with the option of a half marathon and family fun run.

The Fun

There will be Kirklees Active Leisure supporting the family fun run with a whole lot of other activities to keep your supporters happy; a climbing wall, zorbing, mini races and giant tennis.

The Food

Our catering comes from the Teapigs Tea Tent with their delicious brand of tea and of course scrumptious cake and biscuits from the local trendy Woman’s Institute. What race would be complete without cake? Other bang on trend mobile catering tents will also be in the event ground to help you refuel. And best of all local micro breweries will be on site in the beer tent, perfect for celebrating your running achievements.

The Entertainment

On the well marked course you will be supported by a whole host of people. Local running groups will be having a BBQ at one of the refuelling points #teamsausage, a local school choir will be singing specially selected running songs to keep you going, an awesome band will be up the on the hill booming out some tunes to motivate you and of course every fuel and drink station will have snacks, drinks and importantly cake.

The Charity

Our charity partner is our local charity The Laura Crane Trust and they will be handing you out your finishers bags containing your bespoke medal, your technical t-shirt and a bag stuffed full of running related goodies.

In order to keep this marathon special entries are restricted to 1000 for the 2014 Marathon this is split up between;

Full marathon places (500), 1/2 marathon places (400) and 4 person relay team places, so enter soon to avoid disappointment!

Participants enter the event entirely at their own risk: We shall not be liable for any injury or loss occurring as a result of participation (including, without limitation, resulting from negligence), provided always that nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury resulting from the event organiser’s negligence or for any other type of liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Medical Conditions: It is recommended that you prepare and train for this event. Please consult your doctor for a check-up if you have not exercised for some time. If you have a medical condition it must be detailed on the reverse of your race number provided. Also, we strongly advise that you seek medical advice before participating in this event and that you disclose to those medical advisors the nature of this event.
