Run under UK Athletics Rules - A Scottish Athletics Licenced Event.

 

After two year enforced absence due to COVID…… Troon 10K is back!

This year's race will be slightly different than previous years so please read all the information below carefully. We hope that you understand the arrangements and look forward to seeing the event back on!

The Start and Finish is at the Walker Halls, South Beach, Troon KA10 6EF.

Please arrive in good time, race starts at 7:30pm prompt.

We hope that the event will go ahead this year. However if we do have to cancel, refunds will automatically be given no deferrals to next year. Refunds do not include the booking fee paid to process your original entry.

There are strictly no entries on the night of the race.

We do not offer refunds to entrants who are no longer able to run, nor do we allow entrants to transfer their race place to someone else.

Chip Timing - timing devices and race numbers will be posted to entrants  around one week prior to the race.

 

Parking

Parking at the Walker Halls is very limited.

There is a public car park in Academy Street, 350metres distant and a five minute walk from the Walker Halls, please use postcode K10 6HR (Costa Cofee Troon) for this car park location.

From the Walker halls go inland along Academy Street, cross Church Street and the entrance to the car park is 30metres beyond the junction.

If parking in the street, please ensure that you do not obstruct exits.

 

Toilets/Changing Facilities

There are high quality public toilets on the beach promenade between the Walker Hall Car Park and the beach. This year access to Walker Halls will be different to previous years. There will be limited access to the toilets, but no changing facilities and unlikely that you will be able to leave personal belongings in there. We also have to plan for not being allowed access to the halls.

We regret that there are no showers available at the Walker Halls

 

Hazards On Course

Beware of potholes on the course! Special care is required on the section through Fullarton Woods and at the cemetery at the exit from Ottoline Drive.

As there are many road junctions along the route, for your safety please obey the race marshalls instructions.

 

Prizes

There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd male and 1st, 2nd, 3rd female PLUS spot prizes given out on the night.

 

Fun Run

We are sorry but there will be no kids fun run this year.

 

Scouts Fundraising

This year you will be provided with a timing chip for your shoe - when you finish there will be a team of scouts offering to remove your chip so that you don’t have to bend down! They will get a donation to their funds from the timing company for each chip they collect, so please help them out and return your chip.

Water

As with many 10Ks now, water will no longer be provided on the route or at the end. Please plan ahead and bring your own especially if it is a warm evening!

 

** TShirts **

Please note that your T shirt this year will be a long sleeved one and it will say “Troon 10K 2021” this is because the 2021 event was cancelled and we had already arranged for the shirts to be printed. Also we cannot guarantee that your requested size of T shirt will be available - but we will try our best. You will collect your own T shirt after you cross the finish line. We hope that you understand and wanted to warn you of this information prior to you entering the race this year.
