Welcome to the entry system for probably the quickest 10k you may ever run. The long established White Peak Marathon and 'Swift Half' marathon just gained a new speedy upstart to complete the MAC White Peak Festival of Running - the 'Down in a Shot' 10k.
Run entirely off-road on the picturesque High Peak Trail over the super fast final section of both the full and half marathon routes, you will be challenged to keep your legs beating out a rapid tempo as you fly down three long descents that bring you to the final section on the scenic Cromford Canal towpath. So you get the advantage of all the 'downs' and none of the 'ups' that have to be ascended in the full and half marathon events. Check out the course profile on the attached map:

This is a point to point race in which you will be transported from the event HQ at Cromford Rugby Club to the start, approx 800' feet higher up in the Derbyshire Dales on the High Peak Trail. There is no requirement to park at the start as there will be ample car parking for entrants adjacent to the race HQ where you will collect your race number and board the coaches for the short journey to the start.
We will have a generous prize fund for the first three places in the mens and ladies overall positions plus awards for the fastest M/F V40, V50 & V60+ categories. As we are so convinced this race will be fast - very,very, fast - we will reward the male and female winners with a £100 bonus prize should they finish with a sub 30:00 time in the mens race and sub 34:00 in the ladies race. The race is limited to 165 places so be sure to enter promptly as the intial interest indicates the race is going to be very popular. Minimum age is 15, and please note to comply with the ARC event race permit and insurance we wil have a no headphone policy in place. Entries from Matlock AC members are welcome but are conditional on the member providing a volunteer to assist with race duties.

Please enter me for the above event. I accept that the organiser will not be liable for any loss, damage, action, claim, cost or expenses which may arise in the consequence of my participation in or attendance to this event. I declare that I will not attend unless I am in good health on the day of the event and accept that I attend at my own risk. In the unlikely event of abandonment or cancellation, all or part of my entry fee may be retained for the management and administration of the event. No refunds allowed under any circumstances, transfers allowed up to 12/05/2022.
