This popular event is now in its thirteenth year. The course winds its way through the quiet lanes of the beautiful Kent countryside and being predominantly flat, makes it a perfect choice for that potential 5-mile PB. This years race will again include chip timing and an excellent prize pool!
Race HQ: This year Race HQ will again be at the picturesque Staplehurst Cricket and Tennis Club in Frittenden Road (map), so showers and hot food will be available and the bar will be open after the race! HQ will be open from 7am on race day.
Parking: Parking will again be on the outfield so there is plenty of space and also happens to be right next to race HQ! Should additional parking be required our parking attendants will direct you.
Warm Up: There is plenty of room for warming up either in the club grounds or you are free to use the fields surrounding the club, there is no need to go onto the road!
Children: Although the outfield will be used for parking, there are plenty of other areas for children to play.
Timing: The race will include chip timing. Chip to chip times will be available, gun times used for results purposes. All timing supplied by NE Timing .
Start: To get to this years start you will need to turn right out of the cricket club and follow the road for approx 100 metres. Marshalls and/or signs will be available to direct you to the start. Please do not muster at the start prior to 9am, there will be a race briefing inside the main gate of the Cricket Club at 8.55am, we will then walk to the start en masse.
Course: The Course is officially measured and certified as accurate. All main turns will be marshalled with directional arrows also in situ. There is a water station at approximately 2.5 miles and plenty of Water will be available at the finish.
A course map is available here.
Please note that although traffic on the race route is very light on a Sunday morning, the course is NOT traffic free.
Finish: The Finish is at Staplehurst Cricket Club. Each finisher will receive a bespoke medal.
Trophies and Prizes: Trophies will be awarded at race HQ soon after the last competitor finishes. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third male and female.
