Newcastle Frontrunners LGBT+5k Festival of Running
Our first annual run started out as a "Gay 5K" back in 2012 being renamed as the LGBT5k the following year. As entrants increased it morphed into the LGBT+5k Festival of Running with our first children's race and a relay in addition to the traditional 5km back in 2018. In 2020 the event became virtual due to the Covid-19 pandemic but after celebrating our 10th anniversary with an in-person event in 2021, we have continued to successfully host in-person events on the opening night of Northern Pride weekend. Adults (inc. those age 11 and over on race day) are invited to run in the 5km, while children can enter the 1 mile race.
