Bring the summer racing to an end in spectacular style, with the inov-8 Pennine Trails - September Trail Series.

Starting along side the landmark of Worsthorne, the village church, the race begins on the one mile climb of Gorple Road. Making your way up the trail to the Yorkshire/Lancashire border, you'll race towards to the races namesake "Gorple Rocks". A fast turn around, and you reach the point of what make this one of the BEST trail routes in, dare we say it, the whole country...
Now begins the 3 mile race back down...
Three things: Number 1: taking on the Downhill at Dusk produces awesome sunsets occurring over Pendle Hill on the horizon. Number 2: The descent is amazing... Have we said that already? Well it's worth mentioning again! Number 3: You'll be getting great support along the way as you pass fellow Pennine Trailers on the way up/down - give a high 5, just remember to stick to the left to ensure there's no bumps along the way.

Well... we're quite excited about this one, and equally proud of this race start! After registering in the field where you'll be directed to park, you'll make your way down to the entrance of Hurstwood itself. Setting off up through the woods, racing past Hurstwood reservoir, you'll be directed over the Alpinesque switchbacks over towards Thursden Valley.

Best until last? Certainly the most scenic! For the trail running lovers of Twilight Trails through woodland pines, with the sight of the setting sun shining red beams along the route, this is for you.
After parking up (same location as Switchback Valley) you'll be directed down to the starting field. From here, you'll begin your run up through the farms at the entrance to Hurstwood. Making your way over towards Cant Clough Reservoir, you'll take a left over the moorland trail, to be greeted with the sight of Hurstwood Reservoir. Racing down hill, you'll make a right and take in the full loop of the reservoir, running through the woodland trails and trees. After fast paced woodland path descent, you'll come back to the farms through Hurstwood Halls, back down the field into the finish.
