In an exciting new development for 2017 - there will be a new route for the 2017 Accrington 10K! For the first time in its 31 year history, the race route is going to be amended, with the start & finish moved to Altham Business Park. Race HQ will now be at The Walton Arms (Burnley Road, BB5 5UL). 

By moving the start & finish to Altham Business Park it will improve parking tremendously, eliminate the need for the road closure of Burnley Road, and will increase safety.

This year’s race will include additional features such as accurately measured chip and timings.

This year will see our inaugural junior race. This will take place on Altham Industrial Estate from 09:15am. Watch out for further information coming soon.

The route itself will remain largely unchanged, but having over a 1 ½ mile of decent to towards the end should promise grandstand finishes from all runners. 

There is a car park, refreshments and a sports shop at the registration.

Other info

• This is the 32nd running of the race and is run over a semi-rural undulating course. 
• Fast accurately measured course (sorry not suitable for wheelchairs), certificate number No 17/201
• Ample parking
• Food and drinks on sale before, during and after the race at the Walton Arms (please join us for post-race drinks!)
• Buffs and goody bag to all finishers
• Presentation will follow shortly after in the Walton Arms Pub
• This year will see the introduction of other team prizes. So if you are part of a company, gym/fitness centre, football team or any other type of club this event will be a great event to add to your social calendar while adding a little bit of healthy competition  between your team!!!!

 

Junior Race

We are delighted to host our first Junior off road race routes with 3 races, 1km, 2km and 3km approx, with combined age groups running together and filtered into age categories at the end.
 
There will be medals for all runners and Prizes for first Boy and Girl in the age categories.
