Back to event page

The FAQ section has been created to answer the more commonly asked questions by customers. If your question is not listed below, please contact the organiser using the contact details on the event page.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. How can I contact the event organiser?

A. The event organiser's contact details are displayed at the top of the event listing page.

Q. Can I bring my dog?

A. We love our four-legged friends but unfortunately no dogs are allowed in Thompson or Queens Park, so it is advised that dogs are not brought, particularly if you are completing the 3-mile route.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcomed on the longer two routes, but as mentioned above will not be allowed in Thompson Park for the registration, start and finish of the event so practicality of this needs to be considered if you are thinking of bringing a dog.

Q. Are the routes suitable for prams?

A. The 3-mile route is on trails and paths that are suitable for prams. There are a couple of steeper inclines so please bare this in mind.

Prams would not be recommended on the longer routes.

Q. Are there toilets en route?

A. There are public toilets in Thompson Park where the walks will start and finish. There will be others on route through Towneley Park at the Rotunda and Hall.

The route does pass by public places, cafes etc. where toilets could be used, however terms of use will be at the discrepancy of the business.

Q. What do I do if I can't complete the route?

A. Information and guidance will be sent prior to the event and also briefed on the morning of the walks.

We ask that if you drop out part way round a route, that you tell your intentions to a member of the team at a check-point.

If you are between checkpoints and have not informed anyone, there will be contact details on your map. Please call a member of the team and let them know.
We do not want our team waiting at check points for you to pass through if you have head home.

Q. Will there places to buy food and drinks?

A. There will be refreshments at the start of the walk and at check-points throughout.

The routes pass by public shops, cafes etc. if you wish to purchase anything on your journey.

Q. Is there a minimum age?

A. No, there is no minimum age to participate, however the shorter stroll is recommended for families with prams or little legs.
If you register anyone under the age of 16, you will be asked to declare that they are able and healthy to complete the route and will be under strict adult supervision throughout.

Q. My whole family wants to take part. Can I complete one registration for us all?

A. Unfortunately not. We need to be fully aware of who and how many people are participating. This includes registering any little ones in prams.

You can however register each participant on the same Bookitzone account.

Q. Where can I park?

A. 1. There is a pay and display car park in Thompson Park, accessed from Colne Road, however spaces are limited.

2. There are multiple pay and display car parks within Burnley Town Centre that are only a 5 minute stroll from the event start.

3. The car park on Queen Victoria Road is free but spaces maybe limited.

4. In addition there are some free street parking areas around Thompson park. Please park considerately for residents and do not block any access points or driveways.
