Q. What happens once I've booked my ticket?

A. A runners information pack will be issued to all participants via email. Runner safety is our top priority - The Guide to the Sands will assess the Bay in the weeks before the event and on race day. If river conditions are unsafe, we will implement an alternative route on the day, allowing the half marathon to go ahead without crossing the river channel.

Q. Who is CancerCare?

A. CancerCare North Lancashire & South Cumbria is a local, independent charity that provides counselling and complementary therapies to adults and children affected by cancer, life-shortening illnesses and bereavement. For over 40 years, we have supported thousands of local people going through some of the most challenging times of their lives. At CancerCare, we understand that cancer not only affects the person receiving the diagnosis, but also everyone around them. We have four dedicated centres across the patch in Lancaster, Barrow, Kendal and Morecambe. Whilst our services are free to our clients, they are not free to run, and it costs us approximately £2 million per year to keep our doors open. We rely on fundraising for over 93% of our income, meaning events such as A Culinary Evening for CancerCare are essential to our survival.
