Event Description

This is the perfect race to add to your calendar as a challenge in its own right, or ideal as part of your preparation for the Spring marathon season. Now in its 8th year, this popular half marathon trail race takes place along the picturesque Middlewood Way and Macclesfield Canal.

Race HQ: This is at Marple 6th Form college again where registration, parking and toilets are situated. This is just a short distance away from the Start/Finish where food and drink are available.

Start/Finish: This is by the Middlewood Way car park on Wood Lane, Marple, Stockport, Greater Manchester, SK6 7RE. The race starts bang on 09:30, the start is staggered to relieve congestion on the Middlewood Way. We are chip timing the run and your numbers and timing chips will be provided on the day.

Registration: Opens at 08.00 There will be no entries on the day, the race entry limit is 500.

Cut Off: We do not have a cut off time, but you do let us know if you expect to take longer than 3 hours 15 minutes to complete the course. This is to allow us to plan for marshal replacements and delay course dismantlement.

Optional Extras: We no longer provide medals for every runner as we are actively working towards reducing waste at our races. We do appreciate how important a medal is to some runners, but not so much to others, so we offer the option to pre-order a medal for the Trail Half at a cost of £3.50

Prizes: There are prizes for the first three overall male/female, age groups winners in 5 year age bands from age 40 and team prizes (male/female, three to count).

Marshals: We are looking for marshals to help make the day go smoothly. If you can help, know someone who can or would like more details please e-mail us at crazylegsevents@gmail.com. All our volunteers are offered a free (transferable) entry for a future event or a charity donation on their behalf.

Event Terms

Conditions of Entry -
By entering any Crazy Legs Events event as made available on this website, participants understand, accept and agree to abide by the Terms & Conditions stated below. Crazy Legs Events reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting updates online.
If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, please do not enter the event.

Online Entry
The applicant’s place in an event is confirmed by the completion of the transaction through the online payment system. It is the responsibility of the applicant to check that the entry details have been entered correctly.

Deferrals, Transfers & Waiting Lists
Transfers or deferrals are normally permitted up to 48 hours prior to the event taking place. If this changes for a specific event, we will announce it on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CrazyLegsEvents/

We offer transfers/deferrals to anyone with a place who is no longer able to compete in their event up to the transfer/deferral deadline as above.

When transferring entries the people must follow the process in the online entry system. On completion of a Transfer, participants understand, accept and agree to our full terms and conditions.
Transferring of entries between participants outside of our official transfer process is strictly forbidden.

When an event sells out, we may operate a waiting list - details will be announced on our Facebook page (see above). As places become free, those on the waiting list will be contacted by email in the order that they were added to the list and given a time frame in which to confirm they still want the place and the process for registering/payment. If we do not receive confirmation from them within that time frame, the place is no longer open to them and the transfer is offered to the next person on the list.

Personal health and fitness
You understand that participating in an event is potentially hazardous, and you should not enter and participate unless you are medically fit to do so.
We recommend that you consult your doctor prior to undertaking training for all events and you accept that it is your responsibility to make sure you are medically fit and capable of taking part. We reserve the right, in our absolute discretion, to stop any participant from taking part if we deem him or her unfit, including mid-race removal from the course where necessary

It is the responsibility of participants to ensure they have accessed the relevant information relating to registration at their event.

On The Day Entries
The provision of ‘On The Day Entries’ is dependent upon various factors and differs between events. Once a race has sold out, or almost reached capacity there will be NO on the day entries.
Availability of On The Day Entries will be announced on our Facebook page in the week before the event.
We will always charge a premium for on the day entries. Payment must be in cash.
When entering on the day of an event participants understand that they understand and agree to our full terms and conditions.

Swapping of entries
Swapping of entries between entries is strictly forbidden. It invalidates insurances undertaken by the event organiser to cover the event unless this is done in advance of the race via an online transfer request.

Right of Refusal for entry
We maintain the right to refuse or revoke entry to any applicant not abiding by event rules and these terms and conditions.
Crazy Legs Events also provide Timing or Entry Management Services to other race organisers, ‘Partner events’, that are made available via our website. For these races alternative terms and conditions may be in force and will be available via the online entry form for the individual event.
