Hit The Trail 2025 - Race Cancellation

Dear All,

Due to a bridge collapse on New Year’s Day, we have had to take the difficult decision to cancel the Hit The Trail 2025 race. The safety of runners, marshals, and other park users is paramount.

The committee has considered other course options, but these are not feasible or interesting for runners, especially given the timeframe. On top of the recent flooding, snow is also forecast for this weekend. There is clearly a continued risk to the safety of the event. See photos below for more information.

BookitZone will contact all participants by email shortly with the option to defer to 2026 or request a refund. Please follow the instructions provided by BookitZone.

There has been significant damage to the vale over the last few days. If you would like to contribute to support clean-up costs, you can find details below. Friends of Reddish Vale is a not-for-profit community organisation.
