Scafell Pike is the highest summit in England at 978m and is in the heart of the Lake District National Park. The route starts and finishes in the Langdale valley and is just shy of 13 miles and takes in 1300m of elevation. It’s a tough route and a good standard of fitness is required.
We start at Stickle Barn in Langdale valley and walk West and then Northwards up the Mickleden Valley till a steep climb up Rossett Gill takes us to Angle Tarn, we skirt round to Esk Hause then strike out West South West for the Scafell Pike. This route provides a fantastic journey and stunning views on days with good visibility.
