Event Description

It's a Piece of Cake 10K is a community-focused, chip-timed road race in Boggart Hole Clough, located in North Manchester and one of the region's largest and most beautiful parks. The course takes in three undulating laps of the park, starting and finishing near the lake.

Don't let the event’s friendly atmosphere detract from the challenges of this undulating course, which includes Angel Hill – it’s steep but thankfully short! The challenge of the hills draws many runners from far and wide, resulting in a highly competitive field. You can view the route on Strava.

The race starts at 10:30 am and race numbers can only be collected in person from race HQ from 9:00 am to 10:15 am. Registration will be possible on the day until 10:15 am (£18 affiliated/£16 unaffiliated cash only).

Car parking is available off in the car park off Charlestown Road. Race HQ is near the cafe/lake, a few minutes’ walk from the main car park.

The event offers cash prizes for first three finishers for each gender category, as well as other prizes for veteran and cake categories.

This year we want to be as green as possible and avoid as much waste as we can. Entrants before Saturday 8th April will be given the choice of entry with a T-shirt, or entry without a T-shirt (race entry price will be lower for this option). Anyone entering after Saturday 8th April will not have the option of entry with a T-shirt.

The event will start with a warm-up led by the excellent Kate Frain from Witness the Fitness, who provide personal training and community-based group training at locations around Manchester. Check them out if you're looking to get fit and have fun!

Each year we encourage those attending to bake a cake for sale afterwards to raise money for the George House Trust, a local charity supporting people living with HIV. Cakes will be available to buy after the race.
