The Eccles Pike Fell Race, organised by Goyt Valley Striders, the local club in Whaley Bridge, is one of the oldest fell races in the country with a history going back well over 100 years. It is renowned for being short, tough and demanding.

Eccles Pike Fell Race is rated by the FRA as Category:- AS. with a distance of 3.4m and climb of 1001' from the Navigation Inn, adjacent to the original terminus of the Peak Forest Canal, Bugsworth Basin, Buxworth, near Whaley Bridge (OL1 SK023 820 on OS Dark Peak Map)
The Navigation Inn itself offers a good selection of bar meals and beer, making this an ideal venue for friends and family to wait whilst you take part in the race. Or even a post race evening meal with family and friends.
