Event Description

The first Dong Energy Great Grimsby 10k and family fun run on 31st July 2016 proved extremely popular and captured the imagination of runners, sponsors and the local community. Spectators came out in their hundreds to cheer on the 1200 finishers. The fabulous route is on closed roads in a lovely part of Grimsby, with some real flat and fast roads for you to run on.

You will finish in a spectacular Victorian Park to be welcomed by thousands of spectators where there will be a very unique finish line festival with lots of acts and entertainment that will amaze you.

Event Terms

Minimum age for entry is 15 in the 10km race

There is no minimum age for entering the fun run, but parents/guardians MUST look after their children at all times and make sure they are capable of completing the run in safety.

Refunds of entry fee will not be considered under any circumstances.

Entries received prior to 30th June will have the runners first name on their runner number.

You can change runner details up to 6pm on 30 June.

The organisers will not be responsible for the loss, theft or damage of your personal belongings, other than caused as a result of our negligence.

This is a challenging event. It is your responsibility to make sure you have the required fitness to complete the race.

It is your personal responsibility to ensure that you arrive in good health ready to complete the race. You are advised to note the advice at www.runnersmedicalresource.com

There will be event medical cover in place at the race. If you need any assistance, please notify a marshal/official and they will make contact with the medics.

If a runner with disabilities wishes to enter, please make contact with the organisers to discuss the feasibility of safely participating in the race. We will arrange a site visit with you so that you can undertake a suitable assessment of risk.

Please listen to and respond to the advice given by race officials and marshals. They are there to ensure that you and the general public are safe.

The organisers do not advocate the use of personal headphones during the race. We are bound by the rules of England athletics who state that only bone conducting earphones may be used in a race where the roads are not closed to traffic >>>READ FULL ARTICLE If you do choose to run with headphones on you do so entirely at your own risk as it will significantly reduce your ability to listen to safety instructions.

You enter this race entirely at your own risk. The organisers will not be liable for any injury to you, no matter how it was caused.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you arrive in good time for the start of the race.

Bottled water and cups will be available at two stations as well as at the finish. Please ensure that you start the race in a good state of hydration.

Please respect the town and dispose of your bottles and other rubbish in a sensible manner.

In the event that adverse weather or any other prevailing circumstances mean that the race is to be cancelled, details will be recorded on this website and on the event Facebook page. A message will also be left on the event mobile phone. No refunds will be given, however we will make arrangements so you can collect your race souvenirs. The organisers are not liable in any way for any expenditure you may have incurred.

Please ensure that you note any medical conditions on the rear of your running number. If you have any prevailing medical condition that you wish to make the organisers aware of then please notify by e mail.

Results will be posted on the event website as soon as possible after the race has finished.

Do not run using any other runners number.

This is a running event and you should be capable of completing the course within 90 minutes. If in the opinion of the race directors or their representative, a runner is competing at such a pace that they will be outside of this time limit and prevent roads from re-opening on time, then they will be asked to leave the race and be offered a lift in the sweeper vehicle back to race HQ.

By entering the race you give your permission for any photographs/video recordings to be used on the event website.

Anyone who is proven to have cheated in the race or breached UK Athletics rules will be disqualified from the race at the discretion of the race director and referee. Anyone who has won prize money and is subsequently found to have cheated or in breach of UKA rules will be required to return all monies in full within seven days of request.

Please only park in the designated parking areas.

Runners must not be accompanied by anyone on a pedal cycle.

All dogs are banned from the race. Anyone wishing to run with a guide dog must contact the organisers in advance of race day.

All prams, pushchairs and buggies are banned from the race.

The medal and t-shirt are for people who have completed the 10k race.

In the event that you are prize winner it is your responsibility to either collect it yourself at presentation or ask someone to do so on your behalf. The organisers will not take responsibility for posting out prizes after race day.

Any found property handed to Tape2Tape will be kept for two weeks after the race then it will be disposed of. Any postage charges will be the responsibility of the loser should a request be made to post lost items.

It is your responsibility to check that any food you purchase at the event is suitable for your needs and does not contain any ingredients that you are unable to consume as a result of a medical condition.

Privacy notice – Tape2Tape will process your personal information for the purpose of organising and administrating the 10k race and Fun Run in accordance with the Data Protection Act. This will include contacting you with updates in regard to the race. We will not process your personal information for any other purpose or disclose it to any other third parties without you consent.

It will not be possible to answer any form of communication after 3pm on Friday 28th July 2017. This is as we will be too busy setting up the course in readiness for the race.

The last date for posting your race pack/number has now passed. You will now collect this at the venue on the day of the event. Please arrive in good time.
