A. Yes, some first timers use a backyard ultras as their first ultra due to the short distance between base camp and the furthest point of the run.

Q. How should I prepare/ train?

A. Focus on easy long distance mileage. Attempt some runs using the format for the event i.e. 4.167 miles per hour and rest in between. This will help you get a feel for how the event will go.
