The 2020 Settle Saunter

Start 08.30 (23mls), 9.30 (Half Marathon)  and 10.30am for 10k route

The Saunter is an annual walking/running event along footpaths and bridleways taking entrants into the Yorkshire Dales to see some picturesque rural villages and hamlets and swathes of intoxicating countryside. It is organized and run by the Rotary Club of Settle with help from members of the local community. The longer routes have checkpoints with light refreshments along the way and a hot savoury meal is provided at the end as well as a certificate upon completion. All included in the entry fee. Free car parking is provided.

There are three routes on offer accommodating a wide range of abilities and all can be run or walked:

• 10k / 6.2mls,
• a Half Marathon (21k / 13 mls) 
• and 37k / 23 mls 

Most of the route is flagged with tape to help with navigation. A comprehensive route description is available to all entrants. GPS files are available on request.

We welcome all-comers in the expectation they have a reasonable level of fitness to complete their chosen route. Youngsters under 18 are most welcome on the two shorter routes but we do have some safeguarding rules for them. These are:

• the 23 mile route is restricted to ages 18+
• 16-17 year olds if unaccompanied must provide a parental/guardian consent form. Please download, print and complete the form and bring it with you to the event.
• juniors aged 15 or younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times

Registration, start & finish on the day is at the Victoria Hall, Kirkgate, Settle, BD24 9DZ [GR 818 637]

 Registration for the 23 ml route takes place between 7.30 - 8.15 AM with a start time  of  08.30 AM. (for both runners and walkers.)

The  half marathon (runners and walkers) registration is from 8.30 to 9.15am for a start time of 9.30 am.

The 10k route (runners and walkers) registration is from 9.30 to 10.15am for a start time of 10.30 am

The Saunter helps the Rotary Club of Settle raise funds for good causes. Our main charity this year will be Alziemer's Research.
