Part of the Merseyside Grand Prix, the race includes: chip timing, pacers for 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 minutes, water stations on the course and at the finish and a specially designed technical T-shirt. Penny Lane Striders have organised this race for over 10 years and it has become more and more popular and as a result we have increased the number of entrants to 490.
Three years ago the race course was made faster and flatter and now has PB potential!
The race is well organised and marshalled by the club members who enthusiastically cheer on local club and unattached runners alike and are well known for their motivation along the course. The manned water stations are around 5k and at the finish.
It is a great race with an excellent and varied course which takes you from the Police Club grounds, along the River Mersey Promenade and through Otterspool Park returning to the Police Club. In Otterspool Park you will be entertained as you pass through the "Rave Cave" by local musicians.
At the finish there is a water station, the T-shirt collection area and a massage facility where you can receive a massage from "rehablab uk" in return for a £3 donation to Penny Lane Striders chosen charity.
