Following the cancellation of the physical 2020 race, we invite you to take part in our virtual 10k. All profits will go to St Teresa's Hospice Darlington.
In honour of the undulating nature of the Richmond Castle 10k course, we're asking our entrants to match or exceed the 210m of elevation that runners would usually undertake as part of the 10k. Therefore, to complete this challenge, you should run at least 10km, as one continuous run, or as separate runs, with a total elevation of over 210m.
Your run should take place between the 11th and 17th October 2020.
Once completed, evidence should be submitted to richmondcastle10k@gmail.com, preferably as screenshots from Strava / MapMyRun or similar and (optionally) a selfie or photo.
Results will be published on the Swaledale Runners website.
There will be two leaderboards:
- Continuous run, by time
- Multiple runs, by overall time
Limited edition medals will be sent out up to 1 month after the final day
There will be some additional spot prizes awarded, for unconventional achievements. e.g. best photo and most average runner. Details to follow.
Please enter me for this virtual challenge. I accept that the organiser will not be liable for any loss, damage, action, claim, cost or expenses which may arise in the consequence of my participation. I declare that I will not take part unless I am in good health and accept that I do so at my own risk noting that if I choose to run the course, no marshalls will be available. Once my entry is accepted, I understand that my entry fee is NOT REFUNDABLE under any circumstances - even if I do not or cannot complete the challenge. Throughout the challenge I will observe the current government guidelines in force with regards to social distancing and time restrictions on exercising outside of the home.
Headphones or earpieces are not allowed (unless England Athletics-approved bone-conduction-type headphones are used).
The Event Organiser will email further information prior to the event. Please check your junk/spam email folders if you don't receive it and note that the Organiser may only send information once entries close (ie. a couple of days prior to the event itself). If in any doubt, please contact the Event Organiser using the details displayed on the event entry page.
