Why should I enter the 2022 Hero Half Marathon race?
You’ll be part of one of the fastest growing running events in the North West.
- All finishers will receive the commemorative Tour of Tameside Hell Half Marathon medal
- You will receive free chip timing and race results online and by text message
- Water will be supplied at the middle and end of the race
- Marshalled race route on closed roads
- Route markers every 1 km
- Onsite car parking
- Massages provided by our Official Physiotherapy Partner, Harris & Ross
The Hero Half Marathon journey takes the field of runners along the Longdendale Trail, a disused railway line which is ideal for achieving a PB time.
Prior to the start we will also have MyFirst™ Mile starting at around 9.40am.

How will the day work?
Please note the below should be used as a guide only and is subject to change.
8.00-8.30 AM: We advise you get to Rough Fields, Padfield Main Road early to ensure you secure your parking space. You will see the start gantry at Rough Fields.
9.00–9.30 AM: Please feel free to wander around our Athlete’s Village area. Here we have lots of supporter refreshments and products on offer from our partners. Please also ensure you leave yourself time to chat to us if needed at the race HQ.
9.40 AM: MyFirst™ Mile – This will start from the same place as the Half Marathon on Rough Fields and will go around a small course through Hadfield town centre. Cost is only £6 and all finishers receive a medal.
9.45 AM: We are offering a free warm up for anyone who is interested. Please head over to the start area to prepare for the run.
10.00 AM: Ready. Steady. Go!
1.00PM: Results from the day can be found on www.tdl.co.uk. We will crown our male, female and age category winners. We have a cash prize fund available for our top male and female winners. No daily vets or team individual prizes.
2.00PM onwards: Please ensure you get home safely and rest for the very final Tour of Tameside Stage, the Dr Ron Hyde 7 Mile race.
Event Terms
Please enter me for the above event. I accept that the organiser will not be liable for any loss, damage, action, claim, cost or expenses which may arise in the consequence of my participation in or attendance to this event. I declare that I will not attend unless I am in good health on the day of the event and accept that I attend at my own risk. In the unlikely event of abandonment or cancellation, all or part of my entry fee may be retained for the management and administration of the event. No refunds or transfers allowed under any circumstances.
