Race Mementos

This year race entrants have the choice of selecting to have a bespoke technical long-sleeved t-shirt when they finish the race or the option of donating to the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) in support of their Together for Trees campaign.

You can have both a t shirt and donate to YDMT if you wish to do so, at and additional cost of £7.

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT)

YDMT delivers diverse and inspirational projects, from environmental apprenticeships and outreach work with disadvantaged groups to creating native woodlands and restoring species-rich hay meadows. Their work reaches some of our most deprived communities and helps to protect our incredible landscapes and wildlife.

Together for Trees

Planting trees is absolutely critical to help tackle climate change and nature loss. It's even more important in the Yorkshire Dales where woodland cover is just over 4% (the lowest of all our National Parks) - compared to the national average of about 9%. Diseases, poor management, and our increasing disconnection with nature, all place a significant threat on the valuable woodlands we have left.

Roberttown Road Runners are working in partnership with YDMT in support of their Together for Trees campaign, helping them to create a landscape with more native broadleaf woodlands for people and wildlife, supporting woodland schemes of all shapes and sizes. Smaller scale woodland creation is normally underfunded and overlooked, but has immense value for people, landscape and wildlife. These woodlands will absorb carbon, connect habitats, improve water quality and reduce flooding, as well as providing beautiful spaces for people to enjoy.

People are at the very heart of all YDMT’s woodland schemes. They support communities to create their own woodlands, provide training for young people to get jobs in the sector and opportunities for everyone to get involved in tree planting and other woodland activities. By bringing people together to plant the trees, they help develop skills, improve well-being, and inspire people to care for them in future.

YDMT thank you in advance for choosing to come together for trees and donating towards their work.
