The Oldham Way Ultra

40 Mile loop from the Castleshaw centre with landscape that varies from moorland to urban canal, expect some spectacular views along this one of the newest routes in the UK
The anti-clockwise route, leaves the Castleshaw centre following Cote lane, passing between Castleshaw lower & upper reservoirs to join the Oldham way just below New Years Bridge reservoir, then onto Denshaw then around the north of Shaw and Royton to meet the Rochdale Canal at Chadderton Hall Park. from here it follows the canal south through Chadderton to Failsworth, after which the route joins the Medlock Valley to Daisy Nook and Park Bridge before climbing over Hartshead Pike to Quick & on to Dove Stone Reservoir near Greenfield, and continues over Saddleworth Moor where it leaves the Oldham way and follows Standedge foot road back to the castleshaw centre.
Checkpoints roughly every 9 Miles* cut off 12.5 hours at 33 miles NO exceptions, 33 miles, checkpoint 3, Binn Green car park, Dovestones reservoir. A basic level of navigation will be an advantage, this is a way marked route, we will supply you with the relevant map extracts just incase the markers are missing! Medal & all the cake you can eat.
