Event Description

The Great Yorkshire Pieathlon, the hungriest race in Yorkshire.

6km (approx)
220m ascent
3 pie stations

The route is mainly off road, It is a 6km (ish) route, with two pie stations on the way round. There will be one savory pie station (no there will not be peas, beans, gravy, mint sauce, ketchup, pickle or cheese...but feel free to bring your own) and one sweet pie station (no custard, cream, jelly, brandy sauce....) and at the finish there will again be PIE. How pielicious is that?

The Event Centre is an absolute treasure at the Edge Cafe in Longwood (HD3 4XN). Here you will register and drop off any bags and the start line is just outside. Any supporters can stay for pie and peas or a big breakfast and of course some cake. The cafe is child and dog friendly, has magnificent views across the Colne Valley and you will just love it.

Registration opens from 9am - 10.15am, so don’t be late!

Parking is a bit limited at the event centre, please follow the pie marshals and park just one side of Longwood Edge Road, making sure there is access as you will be running on this road later. There is extra parking on the residential roads, but please park considerately other wise the pieman will be cross...and you don’t want that to happen

The Charity we will be eating pies and running for is the fabulous Laura Crane Trust. All profits from the pieathlon will be going to help them. There will be donation boxes at the event centre, dig deep and help out the great charity. Find out more about them by visiting http://www.lauracranetrust.org/home.aspx

Registration opens at 9am - 10.15am. Here you will collect your race number, drop your bags off, find your team mates and plan your pieathlon statagy. The Start is just outside the event centre at 10.30am, don’t be late or all the pies will be gone. The finish is back at the event centre, here you can collect more pie, your goody bag and your pietastice tech tee shirt. You can also have pie and peas at the Edge Cafe....mmmmm.....more pie! Put your pie tech tee on straight away, eat pie and tweet, post your pieathlon achievement straight away!
