Event Description
The Frome Half Marathon returns to the town for the 6th time in 2017 and will again be run on closed roads around the town and surrounding villages. The event is open to runners aged 17 and above and will be run under a RunBritain Licence (applied for).
The Frome 10K returns to the town for the 6th time in 2017 and will again be run on closed roads around the town and surrounding villages. The event is open to runners aged 16 and above and will be run under a RunBritain Licence (applied for).
The Frome 5K returns to the town for the 4th time in 2017 and will again be run on closed roads around the town and surrounding villages. The event is open to runners aged 11 and above and will be run under a RunBritain Licence (applied for).
All races start: 10am Sunday 16th July 2017.
Location: The start and finish lines are both in the race village at Frome Town Football Club, Berkley Road, Frome, Somerset, BA11 2EH. PLEASE FOLLOW SIGNS TO EVENT PARKING.
How to Enter: Follow the link on this website. This year we will post out race numbers and timing chips in advance of race day; please email contact@fromehalfmarathon.co.uk if you haven’t received your race number by the 1st July 2017. Entries are open until 9th July and entries received between 1st and 9th July will be due for collection in the race village on the day.
NB. No entries after 9th July 2017 and no entries on the day. We expect to reach our race limit again this year so enter early to avoid disappointment!
Race timing will be provided by DB Max – more information at www.dbmax.co.uk.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the first three men and women in the race and for the winners of the following categories:
MV40, MV50, MV60, FV40, FV50 and FV60.
King & Queen of the Mountain: All half marathon competitors will be timed as they run up Egford Hill to see who will be crowned King & Queen of the Mountain 2016. We introduced this event in 2015 and as it was so popular will be awarding age group prizes this year! Prizes to be awarded in this competition are:
• Fastest man (King of the Mountain)
• Fastest woman (Queen of the Mountain)
• The fastest runners in the following age categories – MV40, MV50, MV60, FV40, FV50, FV60.
Event Terms
I am medically fit to run, and understand that the organisers, sponsors or any assisting person or persons will in no way be held responsible for any injury, illness, loss or damage to my person or property incurred during or as a result of the event, or any damage caused by me to other people or their property.
Runners are not permitted to wear headphones of any form whilst taking part in the event. For safety reasons entrants must be able to hear instructions from race marshals. Runners will be asked to remove headphones. Failure to comply will result in disqualification from the event.
The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry for any reason. Under no circumstance will refunds be given. Due to the nature of the event expenses are incurred prior to the date of the race and these are deducted from the income. If the race is cancelled the monies remaining after expenses will be used for local, national and international charitable and good causes.
