Q. Do we all run together?
A. No, we will be assessing your ability during week one and the warming up during week two and we will split you into groups of around twelve.
Q. If I feel uncomfortable in a group (too fast / too slow) can I swap groups?
A. Yes of course. Just speak to your run leader who will be very happy to advise you which group to try the following week. We want you to find a group you are happy with so that you enjoy the course.
Q. Do we go out in the rain?
A. Yes, bring a waterproof top or a top to change into after the run.
Q. Does the course run on the Bank Holiday Monday?
A. Yes
Q. What time does the course start and finish each Monday?
A. Week 1 - arrive for 6pm to register and a quick briefing. the warm up starts at 6.30.Cahnging facility available before the start but not at the end. Week one is a training night based on small sessions either on grass or a school playground. Finish around 8pm
Weeks 2 to 8. Start at 6.30 prompt for the warm up and will be out on the roads initially progressing to some off road and slightly hillier routes, nothing silly. No changing available. Finish around 8pm
Week 8 - the Fun Run.. Everyone takes part in the fun run and we congregate in the bar afterwards, Changing before and afterwards is freely available. Finish around 8 but the bar is open until around 9.30 and there will be a buffet provided by the members.
Q. How far will we run?
A. This will depend on the group you are in, but here is a rough estimate.
Week 1 - Exercise bases showing you running technique etc.
Week 2 - 1 to two miles
Week 3 - 2 to 3 miles
Week 4 - 2.5 to 3.5 miles
Week 5 - 2.5 to 3.5 miles
Week 6 - 3 to 5 miles
Week 7 - 3.6 to 5.5 miles
