Cowm Reservoir 5k Race

Whitworth, Rochdale OL12 8BJ
We’re looking forward to welcoming runners on Tuesday 25 April at 7pm for the first of three 5k races at Cowm Reservoir this year. Money raised from this event will go to the 'New Start' Wythenshawe Hospital Tansplant Fund which supports heart and lung transplant recipients to attend sporting events in the UK and abroad.
Pre-race
Come dressed ready to run as there are no changing facilities at the event. Parking is limited so we advise you to arrive early, and park on Cowm Park Way South (OL12 8AH).
Registration is at the Cock & Magpie pub on Cockhall Lane, OL12 8BJ from 6pm. Toilets are also available.
Please arrive in good time to register and collect your race number. The start is a short walk from the pub but we advise you do not arrive any later than 6.30pm.
All runners must pre-register in advance through BookitZone. We are unable to accept money, new entries or transfers on the night.
The route
The race has the same start and finish location. You will run up the lane, turn left then straight up to the reservoir and through the gate straight ahead to do two anti-clockwise laps. Marshals will be present throughout the course to direct you.
Post-race and prizes
Once you have crossed the line, please keep your distance from those still running down the lane.
Free sandwiches/light snacks will be available at the pub afterwards, but you'll need to bring your own money to purchase drinks from the bar. There is a large beer garden at the rear where prizes will be presented at around 8pm to the first three men and women, plus first vet in each category F35, F45, F55, F65, M40, M50, M60, M70, One prize per person. If a vet is in the top three the prize rolls down to the next finisher in his/her category.

I declare that I will not attend unless I am in good health on the day of the event and accept that I attend at my own risk. In the unlikely event of abandonment or cancellation, all or part of my entry fee may be retained for the management and administration of the event. No refunds or transfers allowed under any circumstances.
