Newcastle Frontrunners LGBT5k Festival of Running
Our first annual run started out as a Gay 5K back in 2012 being renamed as the LGBT5k the following year. As entrants increased it morphed into the LGBT5k Festival of Running with our first children's race and a relay in addition to the traditional 5k back in 2018. In 2020 the event became virtual due to the Covid-19 pandemic but on Friday 23rd July 2021 we were able to celebrate our 10th anniversary with an in-person event on Newcastle's Town Moor. Adults (inc. those age 11 and over on race day) are invited to run in the 5k, while children can enter the 1 mile race. There is also the option to run either distance virtually if you prefer.
