The FAQ section has been created to answer the more commonly asked questions by customers. If your question is not listed below, please contact the organiser using the contact details on the event page.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Are there toilets en route?

A. There are toilets at the start and finish, at the Prairie Sports Village, however the route does not pass specific public toilets.

The route does pass by public places, cafes etc. where toilets could be used, however terms of use will be at the discrepancy of the business.

Q. What do I do if I can't complete the route?

A. The route is self led, and by booking you are declaring that you are fit and healthy to complete the walk. However if you decide to stop or leave the route part way round, we ask that you tell your intentions to the tail walker/sweeper and call or text the event team.
This information you will be given to you on the day.

Information and guidance will briefed on the morning of the walks, but wthe tea at a check-point.

If you are between checkpoints and have not informed anyone, there will be contact details on your map. Please call a member of the team and let them know.
We do not want our team waiting at check points for you to pass through if you have head home.

Q. Will there places to buy food and drinks?

A. There will be refreshments available at the start and finish, with the option of also purchasing additional snacks, hot drinks and food from the Bistro.
As the Prairie Sports Village will be very busy due to football and other activities, if anyone would like to purchase hot food, we ask that you please call and pre-order/book a table in advance.

The routes pass by public shops, cafes etc. if you wish to purchase anything on your journey.

We do ask that walkers carry enough food and water,to lastthe full duration of the route.

Q. Is there a minimum age?

A. No, there is no minimum age to participate, however if you register anyone under the age of 16, you will be asked to declare that they are able and healthy to complete the route and will be under strict adult supervision throughout.

Q. My whole family wants to take part. Can I complete one registration for us all?

A. Unfortunately not. We need to be fully aware of who and how many people are participating.

You can however register each participant on the same Bookitzone account.

Q. Where can I park?

A. The main car park at Prairie Sports Village is free for all users and includes designated disabled bays and children & parents bays. We kindly ask that all vehicles are parked between the lines to ensure safe access and for everyone.

Please be aware that parking may be very busy on the day of the event due to Sunday morning football matches and potential works in the car park.

If the main car park is full, there is an overflow car park further down Windermere Avenue, and street parking is also available. Please be mindful of local residents when parking on nearby streets.

We encourage car sharing where possible, and the venue is on direct public transport and bus routes, making it easy to reach without a car.

Q. What time do I have to check in on the day?

A. Check in ad registeration will be open from 8.30am. We recommend arriving early to give yourself ample time to check in and have a comfort break before the pre walk briefing and walk departing.

Q. How can I contact the event organiser?

A. The event organiser's contact details are displayed at the top of the event listing page.

Q. Can I bring my dog?

A. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome at the event. Dogs are allowed in the car park and outdoor grounds of Prairie Sports Village, but cannot be brought inside the building, so please plan accordingly for registration.

Please be considerate of other participants and dogs, and follow good conduct at all times while on the route, in public areas, on shared towpaths, and in fields with livestock.

Q. Are the routes suitable for prams?

A. Prams would not be recommended on the longer routes, however there will be a short family explorer walk on the same day suitable for prams.
