On the back of the success of the past seven we are pleased to announce that the eighth Wigan 10k will be back in 2020. 

All runners will be allocated a race number and individual timing chip. We will start sending out race packs and numbers from August 2020. You will receive an email from us informing you when to expect these in the post. Please follow us on Facebook or Twitter too, to keep up to date with any event news.

The event's chosen charity is Joining Jack, which is one of Wigan 10k's Supporting Partners.

If you have decided to order a T-shirt during registration this will be despatched no later than two weeks before the race date to the address provided. If you order less than three weeks before the race, we cannot guarantee deliver before race day. Racepacks and t-shirts are now dispatched together.  

Race Day
The 10k route starts and finishes on Market Street in Wigan town centre.

Prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third male and female runners, as well as the winners of a number of other categories, and there will be an awards ceremony for the winners held on the day on the main stage in the town centre.

There will also be live entertainment on stage, and the continental food markets will be in town, so we’d encourage all runners and spectators to remain in the town centre after the run to make the most of the atmosphere.

All runners will receive a free finishers goody bag and medal. Shower facilities are available for runners in the Wigan Life Centre after the event, although please be aware that you will need to bring swimwear to use these. There will also be a baggage area for all runners to safely leave their belongings in Wigan Life Centre (South Site).

Wigan 10K 2020 Prizes
Overall race winner will lift a specially designed Joining Jack/Wigan 10k trophy and will receive a smaller replica to keep. The Endurance Store (TES) are the Wigan 10k prize partners.

• First male £150 TES voucher plus £100 cash
• First female £150 TES voucher plus £100 cash
• Second male £100 TES voucher plus £50 cash
• Second female £100 TES voucher plus £50 cash
• Third male £50 TES voucher plus £25 cash
• Third female £50 TES voucher plus £25 cash
• First over 40 (male and female) £20 voucher
• First over 45 (male and female) £20 voucher

• First over 50 (male and female) £20 voucher
• First over 55 (male and female) £20 voucher
• First over 60 (male and female) £20 voucher
• First over 65 (male and female) £20 voucher
• First over 70 (male and female) £20 voucher
• First male and first female club teams (4 runners to count) £15 voucher each
• First corporate team (4 runners to count, mixed) Free entry to following year 10k

There will also be a £50 cash prize for anyone who can break the race record of 30 minutes 44 seconds for the Male runner and 34 minutes 46 seconds for the Female runner.
