SOMETHING NEW & DIFFERENT FOR 2017 .... bring your best team club or not and be the ones to set a course record.
THE FIRST OF 3 RACES ON 27TH AUG, 1st & 29th OCT
Set around the quite village of Bean Near Bluewater in North Kent. You will also get some unique views/obstacles. The course mainly follows footpaths, trail and woodland, ending in a tough hill road finish! Organised by RC Sport UK depending on availability will allow around max of 60 teams.
Runners form teams of 3 people, and each runner is set off on a staggered start. The slowest runner going first to fastest last. Although the race is similar to a relay, each stage starts at a fixed time (5 min gap). This allows each stage to be a competitive race in its own right, and also allows teams of all different standards to stay roughly together as they advance along the route.
The idea being to get everyone back roughly the same time. Runners will not set off till their alloted time. The team with fastest aggregate time wins in each category.
Cut off is 60 minutes, so the slowest runner must be able to complete 5 miles in that time.
With the staggered start our first half mile allows teams to support the slower runners with a loop back through the start - cheer as they pass! and you can see how the positions progress.
Fastest aggregate times win.
