The New Forest Marathon is a sight to behold. This race lets runners get out of the city and enjoy the majestic scenery of Hampshire whilst providing a challenging course that delves through a multi-terrain landscape of forests, quaint villages and open roads.

Brighton
A small journey further down the south coast brings us to our next famous race: The Brighton Marathon. And boy, do they know how to make a party of it! The Marathon is incorporated into a whole weekend of races for the whole family to take part in and enjoy; including a 10K and a mini mile for the little ones.
There are races for all the family packed in to a fun filled 48 hours. Around 15,000 spectators descend on the lively seaside town to get involved with the races, and with great viewing sections all along the route, culminating in a seafront finish, the energy at the Brighton marathon is electric.
London Marathon
The oldest marathon in existence. From its very first race in 1981 is still going strong every April as the world’s biggest marathon. This famous race brings not only thousands of runners and organisers together, but tens of thousands of spectators to the capital to watch racers take part. The London marathon has something for all the family to enjoy. Professional runners take to the circuit first to complete the course in record time; whizzing past famous sights like the river Thames, Buckingham Palace and Cutty Sark. In hot pursuit are the masses of amateur runners taking part to raise record numbers for charity. Throw in the odd fancy dress and celebrity runner; The London Marathon has it all.
Plusnet Yorkshire marathon
A relatively new Marathon for the list. The Yorkshire Marathon has only been going since 2015 but the Autumn race has proved such a huge amount of fun with runners and spectators alike that it is growing rapidly year to year. Providing a tidy gap between the spring races the Yorkshire Marathon takes part in October every year; so many who complete the London Marathon and catch the bug tend to run the Yorkshire as well.
Greater Manchester Marathon
Famous for being the flattest, fastest, and friendliest Marathon in England. To give you an idea of just how fast this sleek marathon is, this year saw 50% of the top 250 score a Personal Best time – Lightning fast!
The Manchester route is a great spectacle for runners and fans alike as the routes for the full and half marathon meanders through the glorious greater Manchester, starting and ending at the famous Manchester United football ground of Old Trafford.
