Collection Of The Best Running Podcasts

Finding that perfect running playlist can be a tough ask. Even if you find one you like, after weeks of the same songs rattling around your head you’re going to get sick of them. Making your long runs bearable with a podcast is a great way to mix it up from those Spotify marathon playlists.

Check out our list of the best podcasts runners recommend; from running chat, to some thought provoking or side splitting podcasts, there will be something for everyone:

1.      Desert Island Discs

No matter the distance of your run, this podcast provides the soundtrack to a great throwback to your childhood. This podcast is huge favourite amongst runners, browse the archives, or listen to new releases.

2.      No Such Thing as a Fish

Everyone loves QI. SO why not listen to the men behind the hit show with their podcast. Dan Schreiber, James Harkin, Andrew Hunter Murray and Anna Ptaszynski will keep you entertained for hours.

3.      The Bad Boy Running

Running journalists Jody Raynsford and David Hellard have got together with their running friends to create a podcast for those bored with the ‘dry’ podcasts currently on offer. The tone is casual, and they promise there is something in every episode to offend everyone.

4.      Distraction Pieces Podcast

Word art poet and hip-hop artist Scroobius Pip hosts his chat podcast alongside a number of famous guests including Russel Brand and Frankie Boyle. His podcasts are nearly 2 hours long so are perfect for those long runs.

5.      Marathon Talk

If listening to runners talk about running whilst you’re running is exactly what you’re after, then Marathon Talk is perfect for you. Experience interesting chat about marathon running with regular guests.

6.      The Adam Buxton Podcast

If you need some light-hearted fun to brighten your spirit on your run then comedian, writer and actor Adam Buxton’s five-star rated podcast should be on your list.

Having the perfect podcast can be the difference when training for running events, between keeping and losing motivation.
