Step Into the Story: Virtual Trek Event
Looking for a meaningful way to challenge yourself, stay active, and make a difference? Join our Virtual Trek Event and walk in the footsteps of history while raising vital funds for The Message!
This exciting event invites participants from across the UK—and even globally—to embark on a personal journey inspired by the life of Jesus, with options tailored to suit your abilities. By contributing £10 (treated as a donation) + booking fee, you can take part in this enriching experience, receive a personalised certificate of achievement, and help support those in need.
Your Virtual Challenge Options:
1. 40 Miles: Jesus’ 40 Days in the Desert
- Distance: 40 miles
- Inspiration: Reflect on Jesus' resilience during his time in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11).
- Complete in: 2-4 weeks by walking, running, or cycling.
- Focus: Overcoming challenges and finding inner strength.
2. 50 Miles: From Galilee to Jerusalem
- Distance: 50 miles
- Inspiration: Follow Jesus’ determined journey to Jerusalem (Luke 9:51-53).
- Complete in: 1 month at your own pace.
- Focus: Perseverance and commitment to your path.
3. 7 Miles: The Road to Emmaus
- Distance: 7 miles
- Inspiration: Relive the post-resurrection journey to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35).
- Complete in: One day or over a week by walking, running, or cycling.
- Focus: Discovery and spiritual connection.
Complete Your Challenge Your Way
- Details: Complete your chosen challenge at your own pace, over a route of your choice.
- Inspiration: Flexibility to suit your schedule and preferences.
- Focus: Personal commitment and enjoyment of the journey.
How to Get Involved:
- Sign Up: Choose your challenge and contribute £10 (treated as a donation).
- Complete Your Challenge: Tackle your chosen distance in your own time, at your own pace, and on your own route.
- Submit Your Evidence and Get Your Certificate: Provide your name, email, and evidence of completion to receive a personalised certificate.
- Raise Funds: Make a greater impact by setting up a JustGiving page to collect sponsorships for your effort.

Submit Your Completion Evidence:
To confirm you’ve completed your chosen challenge, send an email to Emily Ritchie at emily.ritchie@message.org.uk.
Include one of the following as evidence:
- A manual log of your progress
- Statistics from a fitness tracker (e.g., Garmin, Fitbit, or Strava)
- Photos or other documentation of your journey

Event Terms
Please enter me for the above event. I accept that the organiser will not be liable for any loss, damage, action, claim, cost or expenses which may arise in the consequence of my participation in or attendance to this event. I declare that I will not attend unless I am in good health on the day of the event and accept that I attend at my own risk. In the unlikely event of abandonment or cancellation, all or part of my entry fee may be retained for the management and administration of the event. No refunds allowed under any circumstances.
